Judy Negron New York, USA www.judynegron.comI use an eclectic variety of materials in my work; mosaic tiles, pique assiette (broken china), colored mirrors, bits of jewelry, handmade small relief sculptures, and, most important, real marble, agate, and other natural stone. I feel the marble, agate, and stone give my pieces an artistic stability. They also provide me with inspiration. For example, in "TerraNova," the center piece of the sphere is a piece of agate which reminded me of an aerial view of land. Every mosaic I do contains some kind of natural stone. "Bird" is malachite with pique assiette; "Malachite Mask" also contains agate, coral, handmade small face, and colored mirrors. |
